The school has staff trained in Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work.
Simple accidents such as bumped knees are dealt with by school staff and if first aid is given then this is written into the accident book. One copy of the report is kept in school and the other copy sent home to parents.
Children who bump their heads are watched for a while and a bumped head sticker is stuck onto the child’s jumper to show that they have had an accident, alerting both staff and parents.
Parents are contacted if any accident is has caused concern to a child or adult.
Prescription medication can be administered by school. There are permission letters available from the school office which parents must complete.
